BEHKO is pleased to announce that Michael Sawyer has joined the team as Construction Superintendent. With nearly 10 years of experience managing complex construction projects from planning through completion, Michael brings a process-driven approach and proven ability to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes on demanding construction projects across the country.
Michael’s career has been defined by his ability to build efficient systems, coordinate diverse teams, and maintain proactive communication throughout every phase of construction. His expertise spans retail buildouts, commercial construction, and ground-up projects—each demanding precise subcontractor coordination, strict timeline adherence, and unwavering quality control.
Prior to joining BEHKO, Michael served as Construction Superintendent at WDS Construction in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, where he earned a reputation for delivering projects ahead of schedule through systematic planning and effective team coordination. His earlier experience as Project Manager at DDS Construction and Manager at Lowe’s provided him with a comprehensive understanding of construction operations, team development, and customer-focused project delivery.
“Michael represents the kind of disciplined leadership we value at BEHKO,” said Razvan “Raz” Cojocaru, Managing Owner. “He doesn’t just manage schedules—he builds processes that ensure teams succeed. That systematic approach, combined with his technical expertise and hands-on experience, makes him an invaluable addition to our team.”
Michael’s project portfolio demonstrates his ability to manage complex coordination across multiple locations and project types. He has successfully completed and contributed to six Dick’s Sporting Goods projects across the country—each requiring precise execution, vendor coordination, and strict adherence to corporate standards and timelines.
His experience encompasses:
Each project required Michael to balance competing priorities, identify potential delays before they occurred, and implement solutions that kept work moving forward while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Michael earned his Associate’s Degree in Building Technology from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York. His coursework in surveying, civil engineering graphics, strength of materials, computer-aided design and drafting, and materials of construction provides him with a strong technical foundation that informs his practical approach to construction management.
His comprehensive skill set includes AutoCAD proficiency, blueprint interpretation, OSHA compliance, permit acquisition, site safety management, and construction materials expertise—all essential capabilities for managing BEHKO’s complex commercial and industrial projects.
“Michael’s approach to project management aligns perfectly with our culture at BEHKO,” said Jordan Behringer, Managing Owner. “He understands that successful projects are built on efficient processes, clear communication, and teams that take ownership of their work. That’s exactly the kind of leadership our projects demand.”
Michael’s addition to the BEHKO team strengthens the company’s capacity to deliver on increasingly complex commercial and industrial projects across the Lowcountry—projects that require not just technical skill but also the kind of systematic leadership that ensures accountability and excellence at every phase.
As BEHKO continues to pursue projects that others might shy away from—complex builds that demand precision, innovation, and disciplined execution—Michael Sawyer will play a critical role in ensuring that every project reflects the company’s commitment to Bold Excellence.
“I’m excited to join a team that values systematic execution as much as quality craftsmanship,” Michael said. “BEHKO’s reputation for taking on complex projects and delivering exceptional results is exactly the kind of challenge I’m looking for. I’m ready to contribute to that legacy and help build the future of the Lowcountry.”
Welcome to BEHKO, Michael. Let’s build something bold together.
